I have had 3 heavily soiled rugs cleaned here, and each time Mike and Sam have done a wonderful job. They also made several expert repairs to portions of the fringe, resulting in a beautifully executed restoration. One of my rugs is Persian, one Romanian, and one American, so these guys know how to handle absolutely everything. They're all soft as butter under my feet, and unbelievably vibrant. Do not hesitate to trust Wooden Looms with all of your rug needs!

My Persion Carpet that I inherited from my grandparents dates back to the early 1900s. A family member dog decided to nibble parts of it. Mike and his wife dedicated weeks mending and rethreading it meticulously . I can't tell you how grateful I am to have a couple so experienced and committed to the wonderful work they do as if the rug were their own. Don't pass them up if you are in the market!

Wooden Looms did a great job fixing a rug after I had stripped some of the finishing off using a pet stain remover. The brothers who run the store are great, and I especially appreciated that 1) I was able to text photos before bringing the rug in, and 2) they told me I would only be charged if they could fix the issue. We had been planning to add a handmade Persian rug to our home for years. After researching online, we visited several stores before finding Wooden Looms. Upon entering the beautiful shop, we were met by brothers Mike and Sam, who made us feel at ease and helped us to select the perfect 8x10’ handmade rug from their extensive inventory. The price was competitive. We were emailed documentation about our particular rug. We are completely satisfied with this buying experience and highly recommend Wooden Looms.

Mike, the owner, did a beautiful repair job on my hand knotted wool rug. Price was fair and I had it back in my living room in about 2 weeks. They also have a large inventory of gorgeous rugs if you are looking for a new one!

They know their rugs! Very informative, will work with you, make you feel like you’re at home and never feel pressured. I love learning as much as I can about rugs and I enjoy the videos of them cleaning my antique rug finds. After 100 years, a family heirloom carpet has been restored! I kept my great-grandmother’s 9 x 16 rug in a closet for 25 years because I didn’t know what to do with it. It was too big for my dining room, had wavey marks across the entire rug from being improperly stored and my husband didn’t like it. Then I called Wooden Looms Rug Gallery. Mike, one of two brothers and a wife who own Wooden Looms listened to my carpet’s story and had the knowledge, skill and vision to restore its beauty. Knowledge: Although my husband felt the rug was dingy and worn, Mike inspected the rug and was able to reassure him that it wasn’t worn and would no longer be dingy after a good washing. Mike identified the rug as a Chinese Art Deco rug, a valued antique in California. My great grandmother acquired it in the 1920’s when a tenant moved out of her apartment building in San Francisco and left it behind. Skill: Mike and his brother Sam carefully measured the rug and calculated how they could cut it in order to save its beautiful floral designs in the corners. The rug had a scruffy old fringe. After cutting the rug, Mike unknotted enough of the rug’s 100 year old warp threads to knot by hand a beautiful new fringe. What an amazing skill to have here in Austin! Vision: Mike could see that I loved that old rug. He helped my husband see its value and potential. Mike and Sam delivered the beautiful rug to our house Monday night and it is perfect. Wooden Looms is beyond wonderful and if I could give ten stars I would! Mike and Sam were a joy to do business with; they are kind, patient, informative, and extremely helpful. The showroom marvelously shows off the quality of the rugs, each one a unique work of art. My parents recently moved to the area and needed a larger area rug. I discovered Wooden Looms and took my mom shopping. She narrowed her choice and Mike and Sam offered to bring the rugs to their new place so my dad could be a part of making the very best decision for their home. I'm in awe of how Wooden Looms was the perfect (and only) place with an amazing rug that transformed my parents living room into an inviting space filled with warmth and beauty. My experience with Mike and Sam at Wooden Looms Rug Gallery was a pleasure. I moved to Austin and had my heirloom rugs sent to them. They cleaned the rugs, made needed repairs, brought them to my Austin home, and helped me place them where they looked best. They obviously know a lot about quality rugs, and they sell real beauties in their gallery. On top of all that, they are both lovely, considerate gentlemen. I recommend them highly.

Mike and Sam were so helpful with us picking out the perfect rug. Their selection is amazing which made it hard, but in the end the best decision was made. I rarely post reviews but feel like I must in this instance. Mike and Sam, the owners, were a pleasure to deal with. They answered all of my questions and were patient and kind. The looked at photos of my room and gave me input when I was trying to decide on a rug. All costs were in the total price of the rug--delivery, rug pad, scotch guard--no nickel and diming. They delivered the rug to my house on the day of purchase and laid it out beautifully. And they have BEAUTIFUL, one of a kind rugs! After searching, both online and in person, for the last three months, I found the perfect rug for my bedroom and I love it! I've never loved a rug but I do this one. I will definitely start any future rug searches at Wood Looms.

Incredible service. Rugs were out of our price range by a lot but staff was very helpful and informative, extremely accommodating. Knowledge base about each individual piece is vast: know the import location, materials used, and are generally extremely considerate.

Best rug store in Austin! I had a great experience, the owners are soo friendly and knowledgeable. Went in there to get my rug cleaned and repaired, Mike explained to me all the different options of their rug cleaning processes and how they can repair my rug.
